A few months back we briefly mentioned BLOOM🌻, and though we are still working on the logistics (finding a place to meet in the winter months is proving to be more difficult than we had imagined) we are still actively dreaming and scheming about this upcoming initiative! You can read a brief introduction to BLOOM below!👇
BLOOM
Cultivating Love and Liberation
After three years and lots of seeds sown (literally and figuratively) the time feels right for us to begin dreaming about something new that exists as a part of the larger constellation that is Jubilee House Community! And that dream is a seed called BLOOM and it’s our attempt to further cultivate lives of love and liberation in our community!
FAQ (Ever evolving)
So What is BLOOM?
BLOOM will be an experimental monthly gathering designed to cultivate sacred space by inviting our neighbors to share a meal, pause in contemplation, foster genuine dialogue, and participate in community with others with curiosity.
Why is BLOOM?
The dream of BLOOM emerged from the desire to cultivate an intentional gathering space for people to explore what it means to live with deep commitments to life, love, and liberation guided by an open, curious, and holistic spirituality rooted in the transformational Way of Jesus and the world’s Wisdom Traditions.
Is BLOOM a Church?
Bloom is not really a church, but it’s not really not a church either. The word church means different things to different folks so we are leaving that up for interpretation. It might feel too much like church for some and not nearly at all like church for others. Either way, if you are down for sharing a meal and having conversations about the big things in life then we hope you will join us!
Is BLOOM for "Christians?”
Bloom is for everyone, but Christians are certainly welcome! 😉 Some folks who participate in BLOOM understand themselves as "Christians" while others do not. This has always been true for Jubilee even as our work remains rooted in the transformational Way of Jesus.
What does BLOOM believe?
Good question! Depends on who you ask, but BLOOM has no formal "belief statement" or "doctrine" and instead organizes itself around shared practices and values that form the foundation of all of Jubilee House's work! No religious belief or lack of belief will exclude you from participating in the life of this new community. We are firm in our conviction that our individual beliefs are most expressed in the way we live rather than the ideas or doctrines we say we agree with/believe. More to Come
BLOOM will be a space for the seekers, and the doubters, the assured and the unconvinced, for the very religious, the spiritual-but-not-so-religious, and everyone in between! There will be a lot more to share in the weeks to come once we secure a location for these gatherings, but if you have a desire for spiritual community (however you may understand that word) with a heavy emphasis on curiosity, dialogue, and inclusivity then be sure to stay tuned!
